Manga and a Stupid poem..

Yeah, Its been a while since I last post something here.. haha.. As you can see.. I've been quite lazy lately.. Not that that I've ever been "not lazy" but you know what I mean.. hahaha.. Well up until now I've been reading Manga all day at home.. And so far I've finished 4 manga.. damn.. Talk about having a lot of free time..lolx..

Well, after doing lots of reading.. I've come across 1 thing.. Manga and Anime are totally not the same.. Well it has been a fact for quite a long time, but I've always thought that they only change a bit.. just a tweak here and there.. but I stand corrected.. Haha..

And also, I've come across this stupid poem on the net a bout "Thinker" err.. this statue of a naked dude in a thinking position..

here's the pic:

"The Thinker"

and the stupid Poem goes like this:

I came here, To shit and stink,
But all I do , Is sit and think,

And here I sit, Broken hearted,
Couldn't shit, But only farted,

Some come here to sit and think,
Some come here to shit and stink,
Often I come here to scratch my balls,
And read all the bullshit on the walls,

Here I lie in stinky vapor,
Because some bastard stole the toilet paper,
Shall I lie, or shall I linger,
Or shall I be forced to use my finger..

haha..

Ok.. till next time..

Japanese Chess (basic intro)

After a long search.. I have finally able to download a shogi game.. haha.. Always wanna learn how to play that thing.. but after few days trying.. I found out that its harder than western chess.. lolx..

Anyways, for those who still wondering what Shogi is.. here's a little info I have gathered.. (mostly from uncle wikipedia.. =.=||)

Shogi (将棋, shōgi?, generals' chess), pronounced /ˈʃoʊɡiː/ (rhymes with yogi) in English, also known as Japanese chess, is a two-player board game in the same family as Western chess, chaturanga, Chinese Xiangqi, and is the most popular of a family of chess variants native to Japan. Shōgi means general's (shō 将) boardgame (gi 棋). In early years, however, shogi was written 象棋 (the same as Xiangqi, "elephant chess").

The earliest predecessors of the game, chaturanga, originated in India in the 6th century AD, and spread from China to Japan, where it spawned a number of variants. Shogi in its present form was played as early as the 16th century, while a direct ancestor without the "drop rule" was recorded from 1210 in a historical document Nichūreki, which is an edited copy of Shōchūreki and Kaichūreki from the late Heian period (ca 1120).

According to ChessVariants.com, "Perhaps the enduring popularity of Shogi can be attributed to its 'drop rule'; it was the first chess variant wherein captured pieces could be returned to the board to be used as one's own. David Pritchard credits the drop rule to the practice of 16th century mercenaries who switched loyalties when captured—no doubt as an alternative to execution."

For the game itself, Shogi has 40 wedge-shape pieces ( thats 20 pieces for each player) aligned on a 9x9 board

Unlike western chess, where the pieces are differentiate by colors, shogi pieces are differentiate by the direction of the pieces facing.. meaning if it is your piece, then the top edge of the shogi piece is facing the opponent..

Shogi pieces are distributed to 8 classes

the 8 classes are

> pawn - aligned at the 3rd row on the board, 9 pieces
> bishop - is put on the 2nd row and on the 2nd left hand box, 1 piece
> rook - is put on the 2nd row and on the 2nd right hand box, 1 piece
> lance - is put on the corner of the the 1st row, 2 pieces
> knight - is put next to lance on the 1st row, 2 pieces
> silver general - is put next to knight on the 1st row, 2 pieces
> gold general - is put next to S. general on the 1st row, 2 pieces
> King - is put next to G. general on the 1st row/ middle of 1st row, 1 piece

this classes can be promoted to a higher classes when they reach a certain point on the board.. and the movement is also different *I'll talk on the movements on another post*

pawn > tokin
bishop > horse
rook > dragon
lance> pr. lance
knight > pr. knight
silver general > pr. silver general

as you can see, only gold general and the King cannot be promoted..

another feature that is different from the western chess is the reuse of captured pieces.. meaning a player can use the captured pieces to in play again..

* one of the reason why it doesn't use colors to differentiate the pieces

dropping has its rules tho.. here are the rules.. (sort of)

A drop cannot capture a piece, nor does dropping within the promotion zone result in immediate promotion. However, either capture or promotion may occur normally on subsequent moves by the piece.

A pawn, knight, or lance may not be dropped on the far rank, since it would have no legal move on subsequent turns. Similarly, a knight may not be dropped on the penultimate rank.

There are two other restrictions when dropping pawns:

1. A pawn cannot be dropped onto the same file (column) as another unpromoted pawn controlled by the same player (Promoted pawns do not count). A player who has an unpromoted pawn on every file is therefore unable to drop a pawn anywhere. For this reason it is common to sacrifice a pawn in order to gain flexibility for drops.
2. A pawn cannot be dropped to give an immediate checkmate. However, other pieces may be dropped to give immediate checkmate, a pawn that is already on the board may be advanced to give checkmate, and a pawn may be dropped so that either it or another piece can give checkmate on a subsequent turn.

Well thats all for now on Shogi.. haha.. Please try it~

Final Fantasy

Well since I gt some free time now.. So I've decided to post some info on one of the best game ever made.. few people who played Final Fantasy knows the history behind its glory.. ahaha

so here it is..

Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー) is a media franchise created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, and is developed and owned by Square Enix (formerly Squaresoft). The franchise centers on a series of fantasy and science-fantasy console role-playing games (RPGs), but includes motion pictures, anime, printed media, and other merchandise. The series began in 1987 as an eponymous video game developed to save Square from bankruptcy; the game was a success and spawned sequels. The video game series has since branched into other genres such as tactical role-playing, action role-playing, massively multiplayer online role-playing, and racing.

Although most Final Fantasy installments are independent stories with various different settings and main characters, they feature common elements that define the franchise. Recurring elements include plot themes, character names, and game mechanics. Plots center on a group of heroes battling a great evil while exploring the characters' internal struggles and relationships. Character names are often derived from the history, languages, and mythologies of cultures worldwide.

The series has been commercially and critically successful; it is Square Enix's best selling video game franchise, with more than 97 million units sold, and one of the best-selling video game franchises. It was awarded a star on the Walk of Game in 2006, and holds seven Guinness World Records in the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2008. The series is well known for its innovation, visuals, and music, such as the inclusion of full motion videos, photo-realistic character models, and orchestrated music by Nobuo Uematsu. Final Fantasy has been a driving force in the video game industry. The video game series has affected Square's business practices and its relationships with other video game developers. It has also introduced many features now common in console RPGs and has been credited with helping to popularize RPGs in markets outside Japan.

Lundu on weekdays.. and 1st aikido class for 2010

Since my mom transferred, and her housemate will be transferring, I have to stay with her in Lundu on weekdays.. yea.. nthng to do there.. last week for the whole week I've stayed at that house from morning till night.. to make things worse we forgot the broadband back in Kuching.. You cn imagine how insanely bored it was.. haha..

luckily I brought my PS2.. wow~ talk bout luck.. So~ for the whole week.. I've been playin my PS2..

The whole 5 days was like,

morning till evening > PS2
night till sleep> Anime/Drama

crazy.. haha

What game you ask?

FINAL FANTASY XII

yea.. that game which i long abandoned.. well my reasons back then was that the storyline is pretty suckish for a final fantasy product.. really..

Unlike the previous final fantasies, it doesn't have much "love-love" storyline.. But, the good side is that the game system is awesome.. I know i did say it is hard and not that nice last time but I take it back now.. It is genius..

When the weekdays comes to an end, I arrived back to Kuching..

and on Sunday, for the 1st time in 2010 I went for Aikido training.. haha..

The new place is half the old place.. I mean the space is very very limited.. it is very "not spacious".. hard to do rolling and fall..

and boy did my stamina drop!! well, I always did have a very low stamina but after more than a year not attending class its becoming much worse.. haha

After that, for the 1st time since my involvement in Aikido back in 2007.. I got muscle pain again.. ahha..

lolx.. anyway..

to those my cuzzins and my frens who are furthering their studies in universities and colleges.. Jz wanna say good luck guys.. and dont make the same mistakes that I did..

Repeat or not repeat?

Lol.. as a result from "ya knw" when i was in Matrics before.. i only manage to get 1.51 for my CGPA.. gila.. punya la low.. Anyway, the problem now is where to go?

ok..

1st choice- Repeat..

good:
> i can easily take degree if i manage to past this second time o' round
> i know mostly what's to study and I got the basics of it already
> Since I've been there, I knw the situation and I can adapt to it already

bad:
> I studied it already so its gonna be a bit boring
> another round o' year of waterless hardships
> If I fail that's the end of the road

2nd choice- Not to repeat.. goin UITM..

good:
> able to escape from the HELL
> What people would say a safe road to take
> get CGPS of 3.0 and above for 3 sem and I can go for degree

bad:
> result is likely for me NOT to get it
> new environment
> I'm goin to go for Diploma in Science and it got PHYSICS!!!!

aits.. and that are the pros and cons of goin and not goin to repeat..

I'm really in a pinch now since its both a hard road to take.. lolx.. and both are like the Road not Taken.. hahaha

berserah ja la kan? lolx... for now at least.. hahaha

Normal days as always.. a repetitive of waking up around almost noon, take bath, eat, and onlining and RO-ing.. hmm.. yup..

thats all fr now..

Spinzzzzzz @_@

Tomorrow the exam results gonna come out.. I'm just nervous bout it.. I hope I at least don't get a FAIL.. sigh.. really.. I haven't sleep at all.. I keep thinking bout it..like..

> What if I fail?
> where am I gonna go if I fail?
> What am I gonna say to the rest of my family if I fail?
> What are they gonna think if I fail?

etc... etc.. etc..

I don't usually like this ya know.. I'm kinda the type of guy who just like..
"hey.. oo.. I fail.. well its not over.. I can always try again.."
but then this time its kinda different.. for the first time.. I feel damn nervous bout it.. I guess maybe its gotta do with my future.. heh..

I really can't think of anything right now.. I'm going out soon to clear my thoughts.. heh..

For the past few days.. all I've done is sitting in my room in front of my laptop..
reading manga from OM and playing Ragnarok Online.. Pathetic ain't it??

niways.. I guess thats all fr now..
